May, 1915. As the Great War rages on, both the Germans and the Russians on the eastern front fight both on land and in the air. German giant steam-powered zeppelins were used as bombers and floating fortresses, capable of aiding the land forces with their powerful armament, cannons and howitzers. After suffering heavy losses in Galicia, the Russians sent their airplanes to counter the Prussian threat...

Grim, has a real flavor of the horror of it all. Look up caloric engines, or Stirling engines as they're called--and imagine their heat being used to produce hot air for the balloonets. With Helium starting to run out, hot air zeppelins may be in our future!

Perspective on the planes seems a bit screwy, since my first thought when looking at them was that they were all flying outside the picture.

Also, as a minor personal foible, you didn't put in an Ilya Murometz somewhere. >.<
