Ladoga-class cruiser by JanBoruta Ladoga-class cruiser by JanBoruta
Russian technology is crude and quite primitive. The Russian Imperial Space Navy ships often carry four to six engines to develop a reasonable acceleration. This type of cruiser is the best example of Russian technical thoughts. Ladoga-class cruisers are moderately armed and armoured. Their two torpedo launchers are undeveloped so they need to be so long to maintain the required torpedo velocity. They lack the flak guns and their main gun turrets are open, making the sailors vulnerable to enemy fire.

The Tsar has many people left.

This concept was lightly based on "Aurora" cruiser.

...

This is my last space ship concept for now. I hope it'll be an ending in a good style :)

About 1,5 hrs - at school, HB mechanical pencil used.

Regards.
Tom :D

In warships - no.
In aircraft - never
In tanks - what tanks did the Russians have during WW1? :P

In WW2 nothing changed, except their aircraft could engage the Luftwaffe and sometimes win. Thanks for the comment ;)

HAHA! Yes, youre right, Russian naval power sucked. But in WW2 the Russians unveiled the simple brilliance of the T-34!!!! which was quickly adopted by the Americans and Germans, plus I thought they had advanced fighters in WW2, just not a good air force. I dont really know much about WW1 Russia though, so Ill assume they blew in just about everything 'cept numbers lol

Show me the American equivalent of T-34. See? None! :unimpressed: Only the Brits carried on developing the Chrisite-type suspenjsion in tanks but not in cooperation with uncle Joe. And the T-34 itself wasn't perfect, it was, let's say between mediocre to good. The ideal version of T-34 was built after the war when there was time for eliminating serious drawbacks.

But the German Panther, which indeed was the answer to T-34, was a very good tank, much better than the Russian one.

The Soviet aircraft didn't suck so much, but it rather flooded the Luftwaffe by the masses of its planes and not because of their quality. There were good and bad models as well, but the Germans had ther stuff built in an overall better quality plus they had more experienced pilots. (but still in small numbers).

haha, Touche! lol what i meant was that the slanted armor design of the T-34 was inspiration for other more advanced tanks. The T-34 itself overall was a small, cramped mess, so I guess you were right, I admit my errors lol carry on!

There's something I've been meaning to ask.
You have recently been drawing several classes of ships from various nations across our Earth. Several of them apparently having Empires, and I was wondering, which one is the dominant power out of these since the Russian military, as you described it, seems to be rather primative

An 'Empire' is only a form of government here. The German Empire had slightly more land than today's Germany and one-two African colonies, and they had their Emperor (Kaiser). The Austria-Hungarian Empire-Kingdom was only an European power, but the head of the state was also the Kaiser. The Russian Empire had a Tsar as a leader (before XVIII century Russia was additionally called 'Tsardom', further renamed to Empire).

The one real Empire (second meaning of this word) was the British Empire which remained a kingdom and the British Empire is the most powerful contender in our retro-future universe. The Germans are on the second place.

Ooo, that's good, Britain and Germany, interesting. Imagine an alliance between those two
Sorry, I am an Imperialist in terms of government

Thank you

There will be two more starfighter concepts this week (hopefully). And I'm really convinced to do one or two space battle (fully shaded) drawings.

Thanks for your comment :)
