A panorama of the city of Essen, the future capital of the Faustian Reich, and the portrait of the creator of the Reich: the first Kaiser, Karl Faust. On this day his rebellion against the tyrannical council of Otterbach-Anschluss saw the moment of its most decisive triumph.

This is a fan illustration for the mod for Medieval 2 Total War called "Thera - Legacy of the Great Torment", which is one of the best fantasy mods out there.

Colouring of an older sketch: [link] First in a series, I hope to draw more of them in similar manner until all of the leaders of Thera are portrayed in colour.

Done in Gimp 2.6, about 10-12 hours total, spanning from October 2011 till today.

superb lighting,. it's like how I've always imagined armored medieval soldiers would look like in the setting sun. Must be tiring under all that steel.

no coś ty, ja się znam tylko w przedziale 1700-1918, wcześniej ni ma mundurów, więc biorę wcześniejsze czasy na czuja, a tu na czuja jest ok

Chodziło mi bardziej o jakieś babole w rysunku, chociaż o zgodność historyczną bym się nie obraził (inna sprawa że wierność historyczna w quasi-fantastycznym świecie to sprawa dyskusyjna

)

Hm babole? nie no, na początku to wyłanianie się cesarskich wojaków wydało mi się trochę naiwnie zrobione, ale przypatrzyłem sie bardziej i jest w sumie ok, to nie czepiałem się na siłę...tylko może "spod szablonu" chopcy wyszli, bo każdy pod takim samym kątem trzyma swoje żelastwo

ale co to takiego jak się popatrzy na zbrójcę cysorza, na te dramatyczne chmury i dym i przebijające zza nich słońce
